Position Title: Giving Season Associate FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Department Function: National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) is a public charity dedicated to increasing
philanthropy in society. NPT is dedicated to providing philanthropic expertise to donors,
foundations and financial institutions, enabling them to realize their philanthropic aspirations.
We have made more than 400,000 grants totaling $12.4 billion to charities all over the world. We
rank among the largest grantmaking institutions in the United States. We are actively seeking 20-30
full-time and a few part- time associates to collaborate with in support of our Donors and
Financial Service Partners during our high intensity high impact Giving Season.
Giving Season Associate
Summary:
NPT Giving Season Associates will assist with the day-to-day operations within each of the NPT
departments they support. They will actively participate and take ownership for key activities in
support of those operations. Giving Season Associates also actively participate in key
departmental projects and initiatives as well as cross-functional teams engaging in problem solving
and process improvement methods. NPT Giving Season Associates are valued at the same level as our
other associates. We are committed to teaching practical skills and providing a professional
experience. All our Giving Season Associates interact with department leaders and other
professionals on a regular basis.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Execute on assigned projects in support of department and company activities and initiatives
• Learn and apply techniques in support of department daily operations and activities
• Participate in department and organization business meetings, assume responsibility and
accountability for assigned tasks
• Partner with departmental and inter-departmental team members to problem solve and develop
action plans for implementation
• Additional ad-hoc research and project work as assigned

Time Period:
• Giving Season runs from mid-September 2021 through late January 2022.
Positions Available:
•
Most positions are full-time, there are some part-time positions available, some overtime may be
available during December
Training:
NPT provides specific department job/role training for the first several weeks. Seasonal Associates
are provided work activities that align with expected high-volume activities typically encountered
during late October through end of December. During these first weeks, Associates become
comfortable with the work activities and processing while gaining business and industry skills.
Work Environment:
•
NPT provides all technology (laptop, monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc. for productive work
environment) for a homework assignment setting. Some seasonal roles may require in-office work 3-5
days per week during high peak volumes. We continue to monitor our office work strategy to ensure
the safety of all team members and Seasonal Associates.
Requirements:
Seasonal Associates must be able to work full-time or assigned work schedules from Thanksgiving to
New Years. NPT is closed Friday December 24, 2021 (closed) and is open on Friday December 31, 2021
(workday).
Education/Credentials:

Bachelors, Associates degree in related business, industry and technical fields, or equivalent
experiences
Compensation:
• $18.00 / hour w/ a project completion bonus of $500.00
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong interest in financial services, philanthropy, non-profit and charitable sectors
• Strong ability to organize with strong attention to detail
• Superior communication skills in both written and verbal formats
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite Office, especially Excel
• Skilled problem–solver
