As LGBTQ+ ERG leaders, you're not just organizing events and providing resources. You are community builders creating spaces where members feel valued, respected, and comfortable being themselves. But how do we create that kind of magic within our ERGs?

  • Understanding psychological safety: Defining the concept and its importance in LGBTQ+ communities.
  • Identifying barriers to psychological safety: Recognizing common obstacles that can hinder members' sense of belonging.
  • Creating a culture of inclusivity: Strategies for promoting a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
  • Active listening and empathy: Developing skills to understand and respond to members' experiences and concerns.
  • Addressing microaggressions and biases: Techniques for handling sensitive situations and challenging discriminatory behaviors.
  • Building trust and rapport: Fostering strong relationships with members to create a sense of community.

By the end of this session, you will have practical tools and strategies to cultivate a psychologically safe environment within your ERG and at your events, empowering members to thrive and feel supported.
