Key Note Speaker: Mark Segal

 

Mark Segal is the nation’s most-award-winning commentator in LGBT media. His best-selling memoir And Then I Danced: Traveling the Road to LGBT Equality is a National Lesbian and Gay Journalist’s Association Book of the Year.

Referred to as the dean of American gay journalism, and respected by his peers for pioneering the idea of local LGBT newspapers, he is one of the founders and former president of both The National Gay Press Association and the National Gay Newspaper Guild.

From his radical days in New York City in June 1969, to star-studded charity concerts, to his recent induction into the National Lesbian & Gay Journalist Association's Hall of Fame, Mark has made an indelible impact on the advancement of LGBT rights nationwide and internationally.

Mark Allan Segal is the president of the National Gay Newspaper Guild and the founder and publisher of Philadelphia Gay News.
